Speculative Structures of Solidarity

Workshop in two parts, led by Alina Lupu and Arthur Kneepkens
Thursday, 3 July 2025
For the pilot residency at het resort, Groningen

The first part is designed and led by artist Alina Lupu. She shares insights and experiences with art activism, and on how to practice solidarity from a position of precarity. The workshop consists of a lecture, discussions, role-play and creative writing.

The second part is led by Arthur Kneepkens. It starts with a historical overview and contextualisation of Platform BK, co-designed with Hilda Moucharrafieh. It continued to a mapping of individual needs and resources. Moving from the individual to the collective, several speculative structures of solidarity were imagined through which the participants could concretely support each other. Further development of this workshop could be to push the solidarity beyond the direct needs of the individual members of the collective, based on the shared values underlying the common practices.

These two workshops were aligned yet independently conceived. They can be reiterated together or by themselves.
