Vote for a better cultural policy

Over 60% of the culture budget is distributed at the local municipal level. A lot is at stake for art and cultural workers. Will municipalities opt for more creative hubs, support for young artists, and implementation of the Fair Pay tool?

Our demands for a better cultural policy

  • Art workers should be prioritised within the cultural policy and valued accordingly. Without cultural workers, there is no culture.

  • Ensure fair practice by offering employment conditions that focus on resource distribution, equal opportunities, social safety, and governance that prioritizes social justice. There is no fair practice without a fair society.

  • Make living and working spaces affordable for artists. Independent art workers, similar to others within non-capitalist fields of work, should not be subjected to free-market rent prices. We stand in solidarity with everyone who is at risk of being pushed out of our cities by the crazy prices of the so-called ‘free market’.

  • Encourage a cultural education and participation for all members of society, with a special attention for those who continue to be structurally marginalised.
