Renée Steenbergen is an art historian and independent journalist, regularly publishing on current cultural affairs with NRC. She is a board member of Platform BK. From 2014 until 2018, she was a senior research fellow in Patronage Studies at the University of Utrecht. In January of 2023, her book on the necessary transitions in the cultural sector was published under the title 'De Kunst van Anders: 6 voorstellen voor culturele innovatie'.
