Platform BK exists for 10 years. In these years, we have come a long way. We have grown from an action-born volunteer initiative to a stable organisation that continues to fight for a better appreciation of artists and the arts from an independent position. We are proud of the successes achieved, such as the establishment of the Artist Fee Guideline and Fair Practice Code, our actions for better studio policies, while always offering a platform to critical voices.

But we are not yet where we want to be. In order to continue working fairly for solidarity in the Dutch arts in the next ten years, it is important that our fixed costs can be paid from member contributions. That way, we remain independent. At the same time, we strive for Fair Pay for everyone who does work for Platform BK. To make both possible, we need eighty new members within a year. We are hoping for your help to achieve this. We hope that you will be one of those new members!

With your support, we can continue to fight for a better appreciation of the visual arts and a stronger position for everyone working within the sector. There is still much work to do for fair remuneration and higher fees, social safety for everyone working in the arts, more permanent and affordable living and working spaces and the harboring of a place for critical reflection.
