Towards a resilient and agile cultural sector in Amsterdam

This working group was formed in May 2022; we have been asked to make an advice to the alderman. We have, all in a personal capacity, made an inventory of the current bottlenecks in the cultural sector as a result of the corona crisis and what the possible solutions are for the short and long term.

The meetings of the working group have resulted in the advisory report, which outlines the bottlenecks and challenges in the cultural sector. Because the Amsterdam Arts Council also pays attention to the consequences of the corona crisis in de Verkenning 2022, at the request of the alderman, this chapter has been kept brief.

In the following chapters, recommendations are made for the short and medium to long term. These are recommendations to the municipal council, but also recommendations to the sector itself. Read all recommendations in the report.
